Paul Hosey – Old Tapes EP [Wasabi Generals Records] [WG006] OUT 26/02

Release Date: 26. 02. 2015

Introducing e.p number six. Wasabi Generals welcomes Paul Hosey into the fold with four deliciously old school influenced housey jams. “Old tapes” and “Disco Stu” follow a strict sound with deep bass, just the right amount of swing and warm sampled chords. “Higher” is a deeper and smoother track which retains the vibe of the e.p. Deep in Motion has an old Detroit feel with it’s stabby bass, lush pads and rolling beats. Another great e.p from Wasabi Generals destined for the club.

Nick Elia, Thomas Tesla – Xanthic EP “PREVIEW” [WG005]

For the fifth Wasabi Generals Records release, Nick Elia and label founder Thomas Tesla team up on Xanthic. The title track is twice transformed by remixes from Pol_On and Kozber & Oli_N, delivering driving grooves and textual magnificence that offer a collection of dance floor ready tracks.

Elia & Tesla’s bigger than life bassline dominates the original mix with infectious distorted piano riffs, rolling beats and a chugging groove. Polish leading lights Pol_On tread a darker path on their remix, with ghost like sonic swirls and a killer break. Kozber & Oli_N’s remix features a stripped down, percussive and hypnotic reimagining while retaining its rolling drive.

Musclecar – Love Muscle EP [WG004]

Wasabi Generals proudly presents our 4th installment of underground deepness revolving around the slick production skills of Nottingham based duo Musclecar.

“Heavy come on!” as the title suggests packs a punch. Luscious synths compliment weighty drums and dreamy dubby vocals making for an uplifting house track. “Love Muscle” soothes as it flows along bringing together warm synth stabbs, classic bass sounds and more dubby vocals. The package is rounded off featuring 2 remixes; Supremely talented house stalwart Nic James brings a classic after hours deep & dark vibe with a version of Love Muscle whilst Iranian based Partia Ansari almost defies genre with an original speaker breaking take on “Heavy come on!”

All round Superb production skills destined for the club.
